Ginger Honey Drink


Ginger honey drink is refreshing, delicious as well as nutritious.

Ginger ney drink - lemon teaYou may use powdered ginger if you do not have fresh ones. Any kind of honey also can be used. However, it also depends on its content, whether loaded with sugar or naturally sweet.

You can also buy this drink in powder form. It is available in convenient packets sold in stores. By just adding hot water, you have a hot drink which helps ease digestion problem. It is good for women who have menstrual cramps as well for those who have diarrhea attacks.

Ginger is generally used in home remedy to expel "wind" from the body and honey is good to give instant energy and heat up the body temperature. In this recipe, however, we add in ice cube to create a cool drinks. A perfect refreshment for guests who come over during a hot day.

Ingredients:

  • 80g ginger, peeled and pounded coarsely
  • 3 cm cinnamon stick, broken into small pieces
  • 8 cups water
  • Honey to taste
  • Ice cubes

Method:

  • Place ginger, cinnamon stick and water into a stainless steel pot.
  • Boil for about 15 minutes.
  • Strain, leave aside to cool thoroughly, about 1 hour.
  • Stir in honey and add ice cubes before serving in tall glasses.

Enjoy the cool refreshing taste!
